Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 1.65%

Investing.com – Australia shares have been greater after the shut on Thursday, as beneficial properties within the , and sectors led shares greater.

Gold Futures for February supply was up 2.41% or 48.15 to $2,045.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities buying and selling, Crude oil for supply in January rose 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $69.68 a barrel, whereas the February Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.31 to commerce at $74.57 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.80% to 0.67, whereas AUD/JPY fell 0.12% to 95.08.

The US Greenback Index Futures was down 0.22% at 102.25.
