PUEBLO, Colorado (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden mentioned on Wednesday Israeli-American hostage Liat Beinin had been launched by Hamas after being kidnapped through the militant group’s assault on Israel on Oct. 7.
Biden mentioned Beinin had crossed the Gaza border and was protected in Egypt.
Beinin was amongst 16 hostages launched on Wednesday by Hamas on the ultimate day of a two-day extension of a truce within the Gaza warfare.
Biden mentioned he had spoken to Beinin’s mom and father. “They’re very appreciative and things are moving well,” he advised reporters earlier than boarding Air Power One to return to Washington.
“She’ll soon be home with her three children,” he mentioned.
