DUBAI (Reuters) – The US will announce a $3 billion contribution to the Inexperienced Local weather Fund, sources aware of matter stated on Saturday.
The fund, which was created in 2010, is the most important worldwide fund devoted to local weather motion and has over $20 billion in pledges.
The most recent pledge can be extra to a different $2 billion beforehand delivered by the USA to the fund.
The pledge will probably be introduced afterward Saturday by Vice President Kamala Harris on the U.N. local weather summit in Dubai.
Harris, who’s representing the USA at COP28 rather than President Joe Biden, is a part of a U.S. delegation that additionally consists of local weather envoy John Kerry and dozens of senior officers.
