Lawmakers voice concern on Chinese autonomous vehicle firms collecting US testing data

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers raised issues about Chinese language corporations gathering delicate information whereas testing autonomous autos in the USA, in line with letters seen by Reuters Thursday.

The lawmakers, together with Home of Representatives Vitality and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers and China choose committee Chair Mike Gallagher, requested 10 corporations – together with China’s Baidu (NASDAQ:), Nio (NYSE:), WeRide, Xpeng (NYSE:), Inceptio and Pony.ai – to reply questions by Nov. 29 on information assortment practices from ongoing U.S. autonomous car testing.

The letters stated the businesses “collect sensitive information about our citizens and their daily routines, the nation’s infrastructure, and connected technologies.”
