(Reuters) – The Metropolitan Museum of Artwork in New York Metropolis stated on Friday that it will return 14 sculptures to Cambodia and two to Thailand that had been related to an artwork vendor who was charged with trafficking looted antiquities in 2019.

The return of the sculptures to their nations of origin would empty the Met’s assortment of artwork related to Douglas Latchford, a vendor charged with smuggling looted artifacts from Southeast Asia, the museum stated.
