(Reuters) – Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his ex-girlfriend R&B vocalist Cassandra Ventura on Friday settled her lawsuit that accused the rapper of serial bodily abuse, sexual slavery and rape, based on legal professionals for Ventura.
Phrases of the settlement weren’t disclosed.
In a joint written assertion with Combs, Ventura stated that she “decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.”
Combs wrote: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”
Ventura, who performs beneath the stage identify Cassie, filed the lawsuit on Thursday in federal courtroom. In it she accused Combs of forcing her to interact in intercourse acts with a succession of male prostitutes he employed whereas he watched and filmed the encounters for his personal pleasure.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Courtroom in Manhattan, additionally accused Combs of often beating Ventura over the course of a 10-year skilled and romantic relationship wherein he managed her via intimidation and by plying her with medicine and alcohol.
Ventura, 37, alleged that Combs raped her close to the tip of their relationship in 2018 when she broached the concept of leaving him.
Combs strongly denied all of the allegations.
Ben Brafman, a lawyer for Combs, stated Ventura filed a lawsuit “riddled with baseless and outrageous lies” after a failed try to blackmail Combs into paying her $30 million by threatening to put in writing a dangerous guide about their relationship.
